Our brochure and ecommerce WordPress website packages share many common features; the only real difference between the two packages is that the ecommerce package includes installation, configuration and styling of the WooCommerce plugin, and creation of your first ten products.
Both packages can also be tailored to your needs by the addition of optional extras, but if you don’t see the exact functionality you need listed among these you can request a quote at our other WordPress websites page.
Please note that apart from hosting, domain registration and premium WordPress theme, the following standard features don’t apply to our hosting and WordPress theme package.
hosting and domain registration
We’ll provide a year’s hosting with Heart Internet, one of the UK’s top hosting companies. Your hosting package will include unlimited bandwidth, disk space, email forwarders and Pop3 mailboxes, and a number of excellent free resources like royalty-free images and icons.
We’ll register your .co.uk or .com domain for a year, as part of the package fee. If you want us to register a different type of domain for you (such as .org, .wales and so on) please let us know during the ordering process so that we can let you know if there will be any additional costs.
After the first year, there will be an annual renewal fee for the hosting (£35 per year) and for the domain (£15 per year for a .com or £10 per year for a .co.uk).
premium WordPress theme
Our favourite premium WordPress theme is the highly customisable Canvas by WooThemes. But you could choose a different WooThemes theme if you prefer – we’ll discuss options with you when you place your order.
mailboxes and forwarders
We’ll set up any Pop3 mailboxes and email forwarders that you ask for, and provide support so that if you need additional email addresses in the future, you’ll be able to easily set them up yourself.
If you don’t already have a Google account, we’ll create one for you and set up Google Analytics so you can see how visitors are using your new website. We’ll also create a Google Webmaster Tools account for you, and use this to submit an XML sitemap to Google once your website is launched.
Working from your brief for how you want your website to function, we’ll find, install and configure any free plugins that will add the functionality your website needs (if any of the plugins you need aren’t free, we’ll check that you’re happy to pay for them before we buy them for you).
Some of the free plugins we regularly install for clients include:
Of course, every website we build is different, so we’ll only install plugins that are absolutely necessary to make your website function the way you want it to.
We’ll create up to ten pages for you, and populate these with the content you provide. If you need more than ten pages and don’t want to create them yourself, we can include extra pages as an ‘optional extra’.
user guide and support
When your WordPress website is ready to launch and your payment of the final invoice has cleared, we’ll send you a detailed welcome document which will include:
- The main admin password for your website and for any other accounts associated with it
- A tour of your WordPress admin area
- Illustrated step-by-step instructions for adding and editing content
- Information about ‘housekeeping’ tasks such as comment management and installing updates
We’ll also provide ongoing free support (subject to a reasonable use policy which is outlined in our terms and conditions of business) so that if you get stuck, help is at hand.
