Portfolio: YnNi Newydd (Bretton Hall Solar Farm)
The Bretton Hall Solar Farm project is led by one of my existing clients, YnNi Teg, so they knew who to go to when it was time to build a website for the project.
Aiming to create an enormous solar farm on Wales’ border with England, YnNi Newydd needed a fully bilingual brochure website to see them through the extensive planning process and beyond. As each stage of the planning process progresses, my job is to ensure the website displays all sorts of relevant information, from literally dozens of downloadable files to FAQs and lengthy feedback forms.
YnNi Newydd also wanted a newsletter subscription option, with subscribers forced to agree that they’ve read the privacy statement. The subscription form is behind a large ‘subscribe’ button in the footer; when clicked, this produces a pop-up containing the form – very neat and tidy!
There were a lot of FAQs to display, and this list will likely grow as the project goes on, so I used an ‘accordion’ system to avoid a page that’s overloaded with text.
And, as the project moves on, the team felt it important to be able to update visitors on its progress, so we added a blog where news stories can easily be added.
