One-pager WordPress websites

Professionally-built WordPress websites from just £50
My one-pager WordPress website design package was created with a very specific audience in mind, but it’s ideal for all sorts of organisations that want all the benefits of a professionally-built and maintained WordPress website at a very low price.
When I’m not building websites or providing marketing and copywriting services, I’m a crafter – I create all sorts of arty/crafty things and sell them at craft fairs.
And it’s at craft fairs that I hear fellow stallholders saying they’d love to have a website, but don’t have any confidence in their technical skills (which rules out things like Wix), and they don’t have enough time to keep a website maintained. And, because their business is so small, they can’t afford to pay someone to build a website for them – let alone find someone prepared to take them on as a client.
Often, all these businesses need is a kind of online leaflet/business card, with a small amount of information, perhaps a photo gallery, and links to all their social media accounts and selling spaces (like Etsy and Ebay), plus an email address or two.
And so, I’ve put together a package which is ideal not just for craftspeople, but all kinds of other micro-businesses, bloggers, personal brands, community groups and charities that would benefit from a very low-cost professional WordPress website design service with all the maintenance taken care of.
Who’s it for?
A one-pager WordPress website is perfect if:
- You want to own a domain name that contains your business name, so you can protect your brand
- You want to be able to send and receive emails at that domain, because it looks more professional than having a Gmail or Hotmail address
- You want to have a single URL or QR code to put on your business cards, instead of half a dozen different social media URLs
- Your website won’t have enough content to justify paying for a multi-page brochure website
- You want an online space where all your social media and selling platform links can be put together so they’re easier for your customers to find
- You want somewhere you can put a little bit of background information about yourself, your business and/or your products and services
- You want somewhere to share your latest news or announce forthcoming events, without that information being pushed off a feed by newer information (social media can be a bit annoying in this way!)
- You want a place to showcase your favourite products, but not necessarily sell them
- If you’re in a service industry, or you’re a charity or community group, you need somewhere you can describe, briefly, the services you provide
- You’re a blogger/influencer and simply need a professionally-designed WordPress blog and ‘about us’ page

What does it cost?
- The build cost is £50 for a five-module one-page WordPress website. This fee contributes towards the time I’ll spend building your website (it’s massively discounted!)
- Maintenance fees are £17.50 per month subject to a minimum one-year contract (read my terms of business to find out more about this). These fees cover the domain* and hosting costs, a monthly housekeeping service to keep your website secure, and content management (i.e. updating your text and images whenever they need changing, subject to fair use).
*The price covers .co.uk, .com, .org.uk and .org domains only; if you’d like a .wales or .cymru domain unfortunately the wholesale price is so high, I need to charge extra for these.
Optional extras
- If you need more than five modules, additional modules are £5 each (added to the £50 build fee)
- If you’d like me to install a blog, that’s another £10 to be added to the build fee. This includes instructions for adding and editing blog posts, plus a ‘latest posts’ module on your home page, which will be in addition to your five-module allowance
- Blog post publishing – if you want to write your own blog posts but would like me to upload, format and publish them for you, this is £10 per month on top of the standard maintenance fees and includes up to four blog posts per month. I’ll tidy up your copy and edit any photos you provide, if required. If you think you’ll need more than four blog posts per month, it’s an extra £5 for every additional two blog posts.
Complementary services
If you think you may need help with copywriting or email newsletters, please let me know.
Branding your website
Being modular doesn’t mean your website will look the same as any of my other clients’ websites – far from it! Although the basic layout will include some ‘standard’ things like a header, a footer, dividers, buttons and content modules, there’s plenty of control over your branding through fonts and colour schemes. And, of course, your choice of content modules will very likely differ from the choices my other clients have made.
Fonts
You can choose any fonts you like from Google Fonts – there’s a lot of choice, so I’ll help you choose if you feel a bit overwhelmed. I recommend you don’t go overboard on fancy/novelty fonts, and don’t choose more than two – one for headings, the other for normal text. If your content is going to be Welsh, or bilingual Welsh/English, make sure you choose a font that will properly display the ŵ and ŷ characters (you’d be amazed at how many fonts don’t!)
Dividers, back to top and smooth scrolling
Using your brand colours and styles as a starting point, I’ll create a custom divider to separate the sections on your page. I’ll either add a ‘back to top’ link to each divider, or a floating ‘back to top’ button that appears whenever a visitor scrolls down the page (see the big pink and white arrow at the bottom right of this page for an example). I’ll also install a ‘smooth scroll’ plugin, so that when anyone clicks a menu link the page scrolls elegantly to the correct section.
Colour schemes
The colour scheme of your website – headings, link colours, buttons, dividers etc – will be co-ordinated with your logo colours and any other colours you normally use as part of your brand.
Modules
Five modules are included in my one-pager WordPress website design package, and these can be anything from a block of plain text to images, videos, galleries, slideshows, columns of mixed text and images, embedded maps, scrolling testimonials, audio players or any other type of content you can think of. It’s entirely your choice, but if you’re stuck I’m happy to help you decide the best way to present your content.
