Portfolio: Zoë Skoulding

Zoë Skoulding, a poet and professor at Bangor University, had a website that had been built many years ago. Web design trends and technology had moved on a lot since her original website was built, so she approached me to build her a new one.

Zoë’s new website is very minimalist, with all the main content contained on one page. This includes some cool features like pop-up reviews and fly-in images of her books which, when you hover over the images, provide information about the book and a link to buy it from the publisher.

The website also has a blog, with the post listings page displaying just the featured image (styled into a circle shape) and no heading or excerpt – exactly what Zoë asked for!

I’m delighted with the elegant and practical solutions that Debs was able to offer. She immediately understood what I needed and organised the information brilliantly, at lightning speed. Websites are all about communication, so it’s a great advantage to work with someone so understanding and responsive.
